Day Trip--Banks Peninsula

Panorama of Pacific Ocean and Southern Alps in distance

Pier at Pigeon Bay

Sheep Mom of triplet lambs!

Our weather is finally warming up! (Probably doesn't sound good to Mississippians-since it has been up to 106 degrees there) We took a day trip out on Banks Peninsula this last weekend with Megs and Sam. Had a picnic at Pigeon Bay, hiked near Okains Bay and ate ice cream in Akaroa. We drove on some dangerous dirt roads in our rugged Honda Station wagon; I had to move into the back seat (away from the drop off side of the road). Blaine was on a photographer's high! I think we have well over 1,000 photos from our last year here. And when we move home, you will all be invited to the 8 hour slide show!

Ignore DB's polysyllabic banter-he's on a kick learning new words!
